About the Journal
The Journal of High School Economics publishes original economics research by secondary-school students, held to a standard that prepares them for university-level scholarship.
Our mission
We believe high school students can do real economics — not book reports, but genuine inquiry into how people, markets, and institutions behave. Our job is to give that work a serious venue and the honest, constructive review that helps young researchers grow.
Review standards
All research articles are reviewed by professors and PhD economists under blind conditions: reviewers do not see the author's identity. They assess contribution, method, and clarity, and recommend a decision. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on every manuscript.
We expect original work, accurate representation of data and sources, appropriate citation, and disclosure of any assistance received. Suspected plagiarism, fabrication, or undisclosed conflicts are grounds for rejection.
Scope
Microeconomics, macroeconomics, behavioral and experimental economics, development, public and environmental economics, finance, and economic history — empirical, theoretical, or policy-analytic. If your question is economic and your analysis is your own, it fits.
